Hey, everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2014 Ford F-53 motorhome, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Exact Center steering stabilizer. Before we get into that though, let's take a moment, we'll check this out, and make sure it's gonna work for you. Underneath the motorhome, this is what the Exact Center can look like, and it's a pretty simple concept and design and how it's gonna work, which is good, right One end of it, it's gonna connect to your front axle, and the other end is going to connect to your tie rod. And so we're gonna have another point of contact. Inside of here, it's gas charged. more

Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2014 Ford F 53 Chassis Motor Home, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Hellwig Front Sway Bar Kit. Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check this out and make sure it's going to work for you. Here's what the sway bar can look like installed on the front of your motor home. And the whole point of a sway bar is to help control and minimize body roll and sway, which, you know, those are pretty bad on a big coach, right These are just big, huge boxes going down the road. And I'm sure if you're watching this, you probably realize you need a little bit of extra help when it comes to suspension and making your driving experience actually pleasurable because I can imagine you get caught out on some twisty roads or windy days trying to control a big old, big old coach like this isn't the most comforting thing to do. more

Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 2018 Ford F-53- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Hellwig Rear Sway Bar on a 2018 Ford F-53 Motorhome Chassis. This is what your sway bar is gonna look like when it's installed, and what's really nice is it uses a lot of the factory mounting points that are already there, and that does include changing out the U-bolts for new ones, and this plate will just slide over where those existing ones were, you get new hardware to bolt this up, we also, off of that new bracket, have our brackets with our polyurethane bushings, and that's something throughout this whole sway bar, you have polyurethane in all of the bushings, which make it a much smoother operation, they don't break down long-term, and they hold up really, really well to weather or any chemicals that you might see out on the road. Going along with that factory mounting, we do have a bracket up here that's gonna go to a cross member that's on your frame already, and it's gonna utilize three of those bolts, or at least those bolt holes to get this attached. So it's solidly mounted to your frame as well as your U-bolts, and just kind of follows along with your rear axle, so that way, when one side has a little bit of weight onto it, it's gonna fight against it. Now something you may notice is, this is on the rear of the axle from the factory, these actually have one in the front, so this is just gonna help out that front one do a little bit more of that sway control. And this being an inch and 3/4 inch thick, means that it has quite a bit of tension to be able to really fight against the sway, even with a vehicle this heavy. more

Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer Installation - 2021 Ford F-53- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer on a 2021 Ford F-53 Motor Home chassis. The steering stabilizer is a pretty simple method of making sure that your wheels track straight and it's accomplished by mounting up to the tie rod. That way when you steer, it's either gonna compress the spring or bring it back to center by pulling it. So no matter which way you turn, it's gonna wanna always bring it back to that center so that way it's tracking straight. So when you make those turns or if you're hitting any cross winds, big bumps or uneven roads, that steering wheel's gonna kind of track straightforward for you. And that way you're not having to really fight the wheel, which is gonna reduce road fatigue and white knuckling while driving your RV. more

Hellwig Front Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 2011 Ford F-150- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2011 Ford F-150 and we're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install, the Hellwig Front Anti-Sway Bar. This anti-sway bar is designed to replace your factory anti-sway bar. It's going to be a little bit thicker design, coming in at an inch and a half in diameter, whereas your factory one is more like an inch and a quarter, inch and an eighth, something like that. This is just simply designed to help reduce the body roll when driving on windy roads, or if you hit big gusts of wind, this is going to help to keep your truck more centered than your factory one did. Now from the factory trucks, more and more are becoming more comfortable to drive. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2011 Ford F-150 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Hellwig rear anti-sway bar. This rear anti-sway bar is going to be an addition to the vehicle. You don't have to remove an anti-sway bar, because the rear of our F-150 does not come with one from the factory. What this is designed to do is it's designed to help control body roll to bring the vehicle back to center when going around windy turns or if you're hauling an uneven load, it'll help to offset that so that your drive is a lot more confident and comfortable. This anti-sway bar is going to have a very thick construction coming in at an inch and eighth thick steel. more

Now, upgrading a front sway bar is gonna make a huge difference every time you drive your vehicle. I've upgraded sway bars on many of my own personal vehicles, just to give it a little bit sportier handling. But when it comes to something large like this, that's essentially a large sail going down the highway, you're gonna feel that in the steering wheel, that sway side to side, makes a little bit more white-knuckle. And also when you turn and you're kind of just feeling that top lean instead of make a nice crisp turn, that's where a sway bar comes in handy. more

Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 1999-2020 Ford F-53- Video

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar on a Ford F-53 Motorhome Chassis. Now when choosing any upgrades for your suspension, you really wanna determine what do you need to do with it. If you are truly feeling sway, or anytime a gust of wind comes along and you're really kind of having to fight to bring it back to center, or if you're just making turns and it still seems like it's squashed to one side when making another quick turn, that rear anti-sway bar is gonna make a huge difference. Because it's using the weight of the chassis and structurally mounting to the axle, as it flexes to one side, it's gonna fight against it on the other, bringing it back to that center. And really flat is good when it comes to handling, that just means that it's gonna be better overall for parking lot driving or small maneuvering, but also out on the highway. This is what your sway bar is gonna look like when it's installed, and you see that it sits on the rear of the differential. more

So we're under the coach right now, and this is what your stabilizer is gonna look like, when it's mounted up under here, it's much like a steering stabilizer that you might have on your vehicle as well, this is nitrogen, it's gas charged. And this is gonna be pressurized both directions when you turn left and right. It's gonna tie in to your factory spring pack over here on the bottom side. more

Today we have a 2018 Ford F-53 Motorhome chassis, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. When you have an RV, something of this size, when you hit little bumps in the road or a semi passes you on the road or just any truck or trailer of any size, the feeling that you get when you're driving 60 or 70 miles an hour down the road is very, very unnerving. What'll happen is you'll feel that suction and the wheels will want to, the whole RV is wanting to follow the suction from that truck when it passes. Adding the steering stabilizer is gonna take some of that away. It's not gonna take it all away because you look at the size of the rig we have, you can only imagine how big of a steering stabilizer we'd have to have to have no movement and at that point, you wouldn't be able to turn it at all because it would be fighting you too much. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer, today we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar kit, on our 2022 Ford E-Series Cutaway Motor Home. But before we get into all that, let's just take a couple of minutes, check this out, and make sure it works. Before we put our sway bar on, what we like to do is some before and after, that way we have something to kinda compare to, so right now we have all the factory components, on our motor home, and we'll run through our test course, do a couple things, and kinda get a feel for how it drives. And then once we have the sway bar installed, we'll do this again, and see if there's an improvement, and from my past experience, these usually work really well, and the difference or the improvement is really noticeable, so I don't see why it should be any different with this setup, but, with that said, why don't we hop in, and see how it does. So we'll first start by going over some bumps, and the big problem with these motor homes is that they're so top heavy. You get a ton of that body roll, you know, you feel it kinda going like this and it takes forever to come back and kinda flatten itself out. more

Hey guys, Kevin here at etrailer. And today I'm going to be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer here on our 2016 Ford F-53 chassis. If you experience a lot of wandering when you're going down the highway, maybe you have a lot of high crosswinds or when a semi comes by, starts to kind of push you and you really have to fight that steering wheel back and it's kind of just a little bit too hard or harder than it should be. Then what you're gonna wanna do is install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. This steering stabilizer has a nitrogen gas filled shock in the center of it, so there's no more big heavy coil that's gonna be sittin' on there, that you'll have to deal with. And what it's gonna do is just keep this tie rod in place, keep you going exactly straight. more

Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 2015 Ford F-53- Video

Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar here on our Ford F-53 motor home. So, rear anti-sway bars are going to give you a much more comfortable ride. The way that they work is that whenever you're starting to make that turn, maybe you have some wind 'cause you're out driving on the highway, maybe you're passing a semi and it's starting to kind of push you one way. What this does is it kind of yanks back down on that frame 'cause as you're getting kind of pushed to that side, that side of your frame's kinda lifting up and then you're losing traction with your tires. So what this does is it pulls it back down, keeps you nice and straight, that way you have more contact with the road, you can make those turns a whole lot easier and kind of deal with all those cross winds. This anti-sway bar and its brackets are all made with a 4140 chromoly steel, so you know it's gonna hold up. more

And it's also going to help out all those Jeep owners that face that death wobble issue where your steering wheel kind of wobbles back and forth and then kind of throws off your handling and can eventually lead to a car accident. Hi there motor homeowners', today in your 2020 Ford F-53 Chassis motor home, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster sway bar for the rear axle. And this is what our sway bar looks like when it's installed. This is an additional sway bar that we're putting on the rear axle here that works in conjunction with the factory sway bar, and you can actually see a little bit of the factory sway bar hanging down here. The factory sway bar is just on the front side of your rear axle. And the one that we're adding from Roadmaster here goes on the rear side of our rear axle. By adding an additional sway bar, we're gonna get significant improvements in anti-sway cause whenever our motor home wants to rock to the left or to the right, this component here wants to remain in its normal resting position that we've got it in here. more

It's gonna give us just an increase in its anti-sway properties by being stronger than the previous one. You also get new end links, which is pretty nice because if you're upgrading your motor home, this is one of the first things that goes bad on your sway bar in your factory one is the end links, they usually wear out on the ends there. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar on a 2019 Ford F-53 chassis. So before having the rear sway bar installed, we're gonna take this out on our test course and see what we're kind of looking at as far as not having a sway bar installed and later we're gonna come back and take a look with it installed to see the difference. Now we're gonna go over a few bumps which with the sway bar you're really not gonna notice too much of a difference. It might tighten the suspension up a little as it goes over maybe off centered bumps. But as far as like your straight speed bumps, it shouldn't really cause an issue because as the rear sway bar moves up and down, it's not really affecting it too much. more

So driving a motor home, as many of you probably already know is usually anything but a pleasant experience. The suspension is usually really loose and when you have a vehicle of this size and you're going down the road, that's what you don't want. You end up going down the road, kind of getting tossed around, these things catch a lot of wind, and a lot of times you can feel like you're not in control. And honestly, who wants to deal with that when you're going on a long trip. more

Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 2011 Ford F-53- Video

Hi there, motor home owners. Today on your 2011 Ford F-53 Chassis, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's rear anti-sway bar, and this is what our sway bar looks like, when it's installed. It's an additional sway bar that is installed in tandem with your factory sway bar, which is located just on the other side of our axle here, except this sway bar is significantly more robust than that factory sway bar. It's significantly thicker diameter, and it's made up of 4140 chromoly steel, so it's going to be stronger than the one that we had there, but since it's installed on this side of our axle, we're going to be getting the support from our original factory one, in addition to this one.So, whenever our motor home wants to go to the left or to the right, and that body starts to roll, in order for the suspension to allow it to do that, that's going to pull up on this part of our sway bar, and it's going to push down on the opposite side here, and it's going to cause our sway bar to flex, and it doesn't want to flex. It wants to stay in this normal position here, so once it does flex, this larger thicker bar here's going to help bring our motor home back upright again, so it can return to its position. What this means for you, as the driver, is you're going to have more confidence in the stability of your motor home, because when you go to make turns, especially quick turns, such as an evasive maneuver, normally your motor home is going to tilt hard to one side.Having this here's going to minimize how much your motor home's going to tilt, so you're not going to feel like you're going to roll over. more

Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer Installation - 2020 Ford F-53 RM-RBK22-RSSA- Video

Hi there, motor home owners. Today in your 2020 Ford F-53 chassis, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's reflex steering stabilizer. We're now going to take it out on our test course. The biggest section that I expect you're going to notice a difference in here is going to be on the uneven bump section, because that somewhat simulates a pothole. It's a little bit the opposite of how a pothole is. It's going to be raised rather than a sunken hole, but it should still cause our steering wheel to want to go one direction or the other, since only one wheel is going to be hitting that obstruction.This is some pretty sturdy suspension on here already, so it doesn't really seem to be affecting it too much here on our test course. more

Hi there Ford owners. Today in your 2018 E-Series Cutaway we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster'S rear anti-sway bar. Before we put our parts on we're going to go ahead and take it out on the test course and we're going to see how she reacts.The first section we're going to come into is our uneven bumps section and this is going to simulate potholes and other uneven terrain that you might encounter out on the road. And this is one of the biggest things that's going to impact because this is really going to rock us back and forth as we're hitting a bump on one side and then the other.Now this is a smaller motor home so the sway in it really isn't that bad. You can definitely feel the sway back and forth throwing us around a little bit here, especially once we start moving a little bit faster, it really starts to throw us. Next we're going to be coming into the bump section where they're even, and this is going to be more forward and back. more

Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer Installation - 2014 Ford F-53- Video

Hi, there F-53 owners. Today in your 2014 Ford F-53 chassis Motorhomes, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Reflex Steering Stabilizer. And this is what our stabilizer looks like when it's installed. One side will attach to your axle using your existing U-bolts and the other side will clamp around the tire rod that connects between the two wheels. The shock inside the assembly will act as a dampener so any potholes and things that you hit that may jerk the wheel to one direction, will minimize how much jerkiness you feel there, due to that shock absorber inside. The coiled spring on top of the shock absorber will help bring the steering wheel back to center, so you're not fighting so hard to maintain control of the vehicle. more

And this is what your sway bar is going to look like when it's installed. It's going to work with your factory sway bar, which is located just on the other side of your axle, so you're going to have double the amount of anti sway on your vehicle. That auxiliary sway bar that we've added here is a thicker diameter bar, so it's going to be even stronger than the factory bar that's located on the other side. So what this means for you is that over the life of your RV, you're going to experience less sway so you won't have so much rocking back and forth. more

It's going to help really tighten up that suspension, really helping to eliminate that body roll, making a much more comfortable ride for you and your passengers.One thing I really recommend to use in conjunction with a sway bar is a steering stabilizer. The sway bar is really going to help with the suspension, but that steering stabilizer is going to focus more on the steering, making your ride that much more comfortable.This is what the rear sway bar is going to look like once it's installed underneath your motorhome. more

A motor home's steering is usually anything but tight. And so, what that means is you're really going to have to fight that steering wheel as you're driving, trying to go straight down the road. And with wind catching them, they tend to kind of wander and get blown all over the place, which intern, will lead you to over-correcting and having just to fight that wheel.And when you over correct like that too, what tends to happen is your motor home tends to sway a little bit more and just make that ride a lot more uncomfortable. So, before we install our stabilizer, what we like to do is take it for a drive around our test course to see how it performs. more

A replacement heavy-duty steering stabilizer from Roadmaster is going to further assist your steering wheel in maintaining a straight track when going down the road. It does this using the gas-powered shock absorber with the spring located on it. The spring will not only compress, but it also will pull. So if you turn your wheel one direction, the spring compresses, and it wants to uncompress back to its normal position. more
